Beginning - Intermediate Acrylics with Kathy Thomas
Mondays, June 5th- October 2nd | 1:00pm-3:30pm
Fee: $100 Members/ $110 Non-Members

Beginning or Intermediate Acrylic Are you looking for a new hobby and thought that you might like to try acrylic painting? This class covers the basics from color mixing, applying paint to canvas, pallet knife use and techniques for blending and creating beautiful paintings from photos.
Photos can be supplied by the instructor or from your own collection.
Intermediate students can work independently with guidance from the instructor. All classes will end with a brief critique of your progress. A painting will be completed in the 4-weeks.

Beginner-Intermediate Watercolor with Allie Elia
Tuesdays, June 20th, 27th, July 11th, 18th. No Class July 4th | 10am-12pm
Fee: $100 for Members/ $110 Non-Members

Introduction to the art of watercolor (all levels welcome and beginners are encouraged to join). Each class includes watercolor surface studies to learn the possibilities of color blending, compositional design for effective painting, and various watercolor techniques to cultivate newfound confidence in watercolor media and development of each student’s unique creative voice. Projects include opportunities to paint from still-life, observation of the landscape and studio space, and photo references (family photos, pet pics, etc. depending on each student’s interests).

Mixed Media Printmaking/Botanicals and Monotypes with Kirsten Sorensen
June 29th, July 6th, July 13th | 10am-12pm
Fee: $110 Members / $120 Non -Member

Welcome to the art of monotype! This class will introduce each artist to a variety of techniques and methods of printmaking in monotype, and monoprint.We will handprint and also learn how to use a press. Our investigation will start with using plexi glass and Gel plates for printing. We will use native plants to create interesting compositions and experiment and build technical knowledge to communicate in a rich new visual language. We will use water soluble inks, a variety of print papers, rice and collage papers, and uncommon media. Our objective is to create a supportive studio atmosphere where artists of all levels can discover a variety of printmaking techniques and create artworks by mixing some traditional processes with experimental perspectives.

Big Stitch with Allison Wilbur
Thursdays, July 20, July 27, August 3 | 10am-12pm
Fee: $110 Members/  $120 Non Members

Don’t be afraid to let your stitching be the star of the show! Explore hand quilting, sashiko, boro and kantha stitching with master quilter Allison Wilbur. We start off with the history of sashiko and move into a sampling of traditional patterns and learning how to mark patterns. Next we will explore Boro – a stitched patchwork technique that combines simple patches and big stitches. Then we will work on hand quilting with a spoon and thimble. The final technique is kantha, a stitching tradition from India. This is a perfect workshop for all levels.

Painting the Light in Watercolor with Paul George
July 24 & 25th | 9am-4pm
​Fee: $250 Members/ $275 Non-Members


The workshop will begin with a review of the basic materials and go on to how to work from photos. We will focus on the importance of creating light in your paintings by studying shape, value, color and edges. You will learn how to create drama and excitement in your work to have winning paintings.​This class will be held in the gallery.

Beginner Rug Hooking with Hayley Perry
Wednesdays, July 26th- August 23rd | 1:00pm- 3:00pm
Fee: $145 Members/ $155 Non-Members

Primitive Rug Hooking for Beginners is an introductory course into the traditional North American craft of rug hooking. Dating back to Victorian times, rug hooking recycles common materials into utilitarian objects for the home. This course will teach the original technique used in rug hooking and allow you to create beautiful textile art pieces that will brighten your floors and walls.

Abstracting Reality with Kirsten Sorensen
Wednesdays, August 16th, 23rd, 30th | 10am-12pm
Fee: $115 Members / $130 Non -Members

Forget reality and concentrate on a non-representational artwork! Create an abstract painting/ mixed media artwork from one of your own photographs. You, as the artist/designer will choose an area in your photo that will become your individual, stand-alone artwork. We’ll investigate composition, color and line and use acrylic paints and rice papers. We will also take a look at the history of abstraction, abstract artists and personal techniques.

Introduction to Redwork Embroidery with Sandra Cronauer-Mitra
Thursday, August 24th |1:00pm- 4:00pm
Fee: $35 Members/ $40 Non-Members

This introductory class includes a brief overview of the history of redwork embroidery, instruction on the tools used and how to complete the two most common stitches, the stem stitch and backstitch. The required $10 kit includes a pattern, floss, needle and hoop.

Make Your Own Journal with Suzi Ballenger
Saturday, September 9th | 2pm-4pm
Fee: $65 Members/ $75 Non-Members

Make your own personalized journal! Using beautiful handmade papers, you will learn methods for making folios, signatures, and spines using the Pamphlet Stitch technique. Your own aesthetic will have an opportunity to shine as you work with handmade papers and other unique card stock. You will leave with your own handmade book and the knowledge to make this at home.
