About the Juror
Mixed media artist Jen Charleson is a lifelong artist and Bristol native. She owns and operates Plumb Gallery, which opened in downtown Bristol RI in the spring of 2025. The fine art gallery represents a small collection of regional artists, showcasing work that is bold, striking, and unexpected. As an artist, Ms. Charleson’s work is influenced by sacred geometry, sound waves, physics, and meditation; with a decidedly “human touch.” Her approach breaks rules, crosses mediums, and conflates ideas, conveying a sense that it exists in the past and present simultaneously. The result is earthy and organic artworks with complex textures that feel other worldly. contradiva.com |
Overview
Artists are encouraged to find beauty in the ordinary - backyards, kitchens, sidewalks, details of summer life - and, of course, Bristol's 4th of July celebrations and our nations 250th anniversary.
Summer in Bristol brings with it a season of shared experiences - the rhythm of long days, the bustle of celebrations, flags waving, children playing, the light on the water, and glowing sunsets.
Everyday Wonders emphasizes that beauty and meaning are not always found in the grand and distant - often they live right where we are.
This exhibition will be on view at Bristol Art Museum's community gallery at Rogers Free Library from June 16th - July 29th, 2026.
