Collective Consciousness
Roger Williams University, Visual Arts Senior Exhibition
April 14 – May 2
Opening Reception Thursday, April 17, 5-7PM |
The Visual Arts Department at Roger Williams University and the Bristol Art Museum are pleased to present, Collective Consciousness, new work by graduating seniors in the Department. This annual exhibition highlights the accomplishments of a diverse group of student-artists and features their capstone work in painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, fibers and mixed media creations. The VARTS program at RWU is one that fosters both media and conceptual exploration through a student’s visual work. In this exhibition, the work of these young artists reflects a common interest in themes of identity, personal history and political pressures that confront many artists working today. These students have found innovative ways to use their voices through their diverse creative practices. Together, they hope that through the personal and individual in their work, their collective consciousness of artists working in this moment is represented. |
