After meeting at the Bristol Art Museum, we will be working outside at nearby Mount Hope Farm, where you can choose your site from among: wildflower fields, lanes bordered with lovely old stone walls, a tree lined pond with swans, old growth forests, or paths to the shore. The workshop will include demonstrations on basic en plein air techniques, developing color mixing strategies, and exploring brush techniques & the use of mediums. I will guide you in selecting an interesting point of view, which will enable you to create a strong composition as the foundation for your original painting. We will gather for a group critique at the end of the workshop. You may work in either oils or acrylics. My supply lists suggest basic colors & brands, but bring any additional supplies you like working with.
