In the spirit of Alegria, a summer of honoring Portuguese art and industry, BAM is heading to New Bedford for a fun tour of their local cultural sites.
The South Coast is rich in culture, history, and diversity. And rich in art! New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! is at the heart of New Bedford’s Seaport Cultural District. Located in the historic downtown, NBAM / ArtWorks! offers engaging exhibitions and outstanding educational programs for members and visitors of all ages.
The Whaling Museum's rich history reveals an intimate relationship with the communities it serves. Motivated by civic pride and a desire to preserve the artifacts and narratives of the region, the museum was founded by the children of the progenitors of the American whaling industry. A touchstone to the region’s past, the museum has evolved as a crossroads through which diverse communities intersect, conveying their rich cultures.
The coach will leave from the Municipal Lot on Thames Street in Bristol at 9:30 am and depart New Bedford at 3:30 pm. Please pack a lunch, otherwise provisions can be purchased on location.
