The Bristol Art Museum is responsible for providing our community with cultural enrichment and enjoyment at all times. During this global pandemic, the arts have a special role in helping communities remain hopeful and connected. Sculpture on the Lawn aims to offer our community the joy of art from a distance.

Please enjoy this exhibit safely from your vehicle or by wearing a mask and
maintaining a distance of 6 feet from your fellow visitors.

Find us on the Lingar app to begin exploring BAM's virtual exhibits today. Simply search "Lingar" on your mobile device's app store and download.

Tap the stacked rectangles in the upper left corner to enjoy Praxis: Abstraction: 4 Strategies from your home. Open Lingar while enjoying our outdoor sculpture installation to learn about the artists and works on view. Snap a photo of a sculpture within the app or explore the menu on the left to pull up interpretive info and more!
With the closure of institutions of art as part of social distancing, public art has a role to play in availability. Outdoor sculpture is always available and in spaces that are conducive to social distancing. In this exhibit you don’t even need to get out of your car to enjoy the artwork. Over the duration of the exhibit and multiple encounters – a real relationship with the artwork can form.
-- Rob Lorenson, Guest Curator
  • BLM - The Board of Directors of the Bristol Art Museum mourn the senseless death of George Floyd and all the victims of racial injustice. The Board actively supports efforts to bridge racial disparities, to reject racism, and to work toward making Bristol a much more culturally rich and diverse community through the arts. The Board believes art fosters learning, contemplation, and critical discourse; it recognizes positive change is achieved through active engagement with the town and residents. Change happens when communities work together to achieve common goals. Therefore, Bristol Art Museum is committed to developing exhibits and programs around equity, respect, and compassion. These are the organization's guiding principles and touchstones for moving forward.
