An Art Odyssey
at Rogers Free Library
“The journey that stirs you now is not far off.” Homer, The Odyssey
In partnership with the Rogers Free Library, the Bristol art Museum invites artists
to share artworks expressing a journey. A journey can be imaginary, emotional,
sensory or literal - open to artistic interpretation.
“An Art Odyssey” is an exhibition organized in complementary spirit to the 2023
Bristol Bookfest selection of The Odyssey the epic tale of a hero’s journey through
uncertainty to certitude against profound odds.
“Every canvas is journey all its own.” Helen Frankenthaler
“Creativity takes courage.” Henri Matisse
On View at Rogers Free Library March 28th through May 4th, 2023
The juror for this exhibit is Anne Tait, MFA, Professor of Art, RWU.
Anne Tait teaches printmaking and painting in the Visual Arts Program at Roger
Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Her degrees are in literature, fine arts
printmaking and painting. She has also extensively studied lettering and
embroidery over her 30 years of making artwork.

About the Juror
Anne Tait teaches printmaking and painting in the Visual Arts Program at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Her degrees are in literature, fine arts printmaking and painting. She has also extensively studied lettering and embroidery over her 30 years of making artwork. In her prints, glass pieces and the accompanying images from her research she presents traditional images of death considering the ways people attempt to remember through memorials.
