The Bristol Art Museum invites you to submit your artwork to our upcoming open members exhibit, where the theme is intentionally left open-ended to celebrate pieces that embody a singular, compelling focal point.

We encourage submissions that highlight an isolated subject within the composition. Whether it's a lone figure against a nuanced backdrop or a distinct element standing out in a larger grouping—picture a solitary lilac bush amidst a field of daffodils or a lone shell on an expansive beach—we invite you to explore the potency of composition. Embrace the art of selective focus, using it as a tool to convey depth, emotion, and narrative.

Hosted at Blithewold, with its magnificent mansion and arboretum overlooking Narragansett Bay, this exhibit provides a unique setting for your work. We look forward to receiving your artwork and collectively celebrating the Museum’s artist member’s creativity.

Eligibility:

• Active Museum membership is required for all entrants. Memberships may be purchased at the time of submission.
• You may purchase a membership at BristolArtMuseum.org/membership or at the time of submission
• Open to artists 18 years of age or older
• Submitted work must be original
• Entries previously displayed at BAM will not be accepted
• All artworks must be appropriately framed and ready for display
  
• Blithewold has a specific hanging system, saw-tooth hangers will not work on their wires.
  
• 2-D Work: Maximum dimensions – no more than 24” in any direction

Entry Information:

• Each artist may submit up to 2 entries.
• Delivery Dates: March 14, and 15 - between Noon and 3:00pm
• Pick-Up of artwork at close of exhibit: Monday, May 13, 2024
• Delivery and Pick-Up times are non-negotiable, with no exceptions.

Art Sales: 50/50, 50% to the artist and 50% to Blithewold. 

• Artists may offer their works for sale, with all transactions being processed through Blithewolds' gift shop. *The Museum does not take any commission.
  
• The exhibit will be cash and carry
  
• Artwork not sold may not be removed until the close of the exhibition.
• Alternatively, artists may label an entry as NFS (Not for Sale).
